Chinese Chestnut (Castanea mollissima) is a hardy, fast-growing nut-bearing tree valued for its sweet, edible chestnuts and strong adaptability. Chinese Chestnut is highly valued for its productive edible nuts, strong growth, and adaptability.
Improved Chinese Chestnut: 18 – 30″ Tall – Grown in a Deep Band Pot
Our trees are grown in a 3.5 x 3.5 x 6 inch deep band pot, with a well developed root system. Fast growing, with a spreading, rounded canopy. Once established, the tree will tolerate occasional drought, hot summers, and humidity. Planting 2 or more trees, will accomplish cross pollination and produce a more abundant crop of nuts. These trees will product large, sweet tasting nuts, annually. They are, also, great as a wildlife food source. Easy to grow. Plants may be shipped without the pot, but, will have a root ball, will not be bare root. Zones 5 – 9. We do not ship into the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CO, FL, HI, ID, LA, MI, OR, P.R., UT, WA

At least two chestnut trees (any variety) are needed to produce nuts. Chinese chestnut trees grow in zones 4-9. They do well in full sun with well-drained soil. I will include planting instructions with the seeds.
