Welcome to Carolina Lavender Farm online shop, all of our plants are GMO-free, organically grown at our farm land. We sell live plants that are well-rooted in 3-4″ pot. Achillea millefolium, commonly known as yarrow. It is native to temperate regions of northern hemisphere in Asia, Europe, and North America. Yarrow is an such awesome and low maintenance herb to have in the garden. It produces beautiful cream colored flowering heads that grow upon tall. delicately leaved stalks, grow up to 3′ tall and may need to be staked to keep their posture. It has a strong, sweet scent, similar to chrysanthemums. Deadheading old flowers will encourage the plant to produce more blooms. Yarrow be used medicinally to cure a number of ailments, its astringent and anti-inflammatory properties have made it popular since the ancient Greeks. Yarrow is used as a culinary herb, although cooking it can bring out a bitterness. It can be used fresh with fruit and in any creamy dessert or try finely chopped young leaves in a salad. Yarrow is a great companion plant, it is helpful to the health of its neighboring plants as it is to humans. It attracts predatory insects that feed on hungry larvae while repelling unwanted pests, and it chemical properties actually improve poor soil and welfare of nearby plants. It also make a great fertilizer and compost additive. CAUTION: Should NOT be ingested by pregnant woman or children. Put them in a carnivorous plant soil, keep moist and you should have some germinating in about two-three weeks or longer. Happy growing!!! Phalanx traps are prized for having longer than usual “eye lashes” as you can see in the pictures. They are a cool and unique flytrap.
