You can place them in a single bucket, quart size large mouth mason jars, or deep cell planting tray. On the farm I place them in a 5 gallon bucket separated by 1&1/2″ PVC, 8″ in length. When they are well root and have grown leaves, plant them in well saturated soil. Water them amply until they have a chance to establish roots into a planting pot or ground if it is saturated (three + weeks). In thoroughly saturated ground you can just drive them into the ground with a light pounding of a hammer. ** I have seen 3″ logs begin to grow by just laying on wet ground.
