Quick note: My seeds are grown, harvested and selected by me. I start ALL of my seedlings/transplants, so you know there are no chemicals, pesticides, insecticides, or harsh commercial fertilizers used in the products I produce. I use organic fertilizer, compost, and red worm castings, that’s it! I do not buy foreign seeds or seeds that are out of date. I have been growing these varieties for years and they are proven winners. You will not be dissapointed. NON-GMO HEIRLOOM VEGETABLES JUST TASTE BETTER! MADE IN USA Back in 2010 I bought my first assortment of heirloom seeds, off ebay actually, from Blue Ribbon Tomatoes in Kentucky. Unfortunately, they are no longer selling heirloom tomato seed, boo! Anyway, I bought 100 or so varieties and have been growing them out ever since. One of those tomatoes that I just started saving seed from this last year was LIGHT BLUE CHERRY tomato. This tomato performs great and is DIFFERENT! The original tomato, DARK BLUE CHERRY tomato, performed amazingly well for me in the high desert frontier at 4100 feet in 2016. My growing season is sometimes very long (May-November) and other years it can end in early September. No matter, this variety puts on a ton of fruit and does very well regardless of length of season. Great flavor and appearance. Back to the story…These tomato seeds came from seed I had saved in 2016 of DARK BLUE CHERRY. One of the plants of DK BLUE CHERRY I planted out this year, 2017, put out fruit that was lighter in color than normal. All of the fruit on this plant were of lighter color. It was easily apparent because I had two other DK BLUE CHERRY tomato plants growing right next to it with the darker blue fruit. This is an awesome tomato. VERY PRODUCTIVE, this is a great variety FOR KIDS! Easy to grow.A cherry sized, dark pink/violet color tomato. Very TASTY! This was great again in salsa, salads, and just eating as a snack.Great choice for an “HEIRLOOM TASTING PLATTER” with different colors of cherry tomatoes, this one really stands out.Did You Know? Research shows that protective effects of tomatoes against prostate cancer and cardiovascular disease result from the synergy of lycopene with other phytonutrients naturally present in whole tomatoes. Lycopene is highest in organically grown tomatoes.Frontier Seed brand vegetable seeds are all NON-GMO and open pollinated heirloom varieties.Buy with confidence and plant the best!Nutritional Value: The red tomato is listed on most nutritional lists as a super-food. It is packed with the antioxidant vitamins A and C, potassium and the B vitamins for heart health, and above all a powerful carotenoid called lycopene. This phytonutrient, which is responsible for the bright red color of tomatoes, has been studied for its role in fighting various cancers, and its ability to lower cholesterol. When tomatoes are cooked, even more lycopene is made available. Lycopene has been shown to be especially effective when eaten with fat-rich foods such as avocado, olive oil, or nuts. There are the ingredients for a powerhouse salad! HEIRLOOM VEGETABLES JUST TASTE BETTER! INCLUDES BASIC GROWING INSTRUCTIONSA quick note on my seed saving system… All seeds are fermented, strained, washed, dried, and stored at 34 degrees f until you purchase them. I have been saving seed for 7 years and this is the step by step process I use every year and I’ll tell you, my germination rates are amazing! a quick note on seed storage… I feel through my experience the best way to store your seed is in the refrigerator. Some vegetable varieties produce seed that remains viable for many years (tomatoes) and others produce seed that does not store well under any conditions (onions). I believe seed stored under refrigerated conditions could last 10 years or more. I have just planted some ACE 55 seeds from 2000 during summer 2017. They did great! Germination rates were in the 90% range and these seeds had been sitting in a box in my garage for the past 17 years! I have some of that seed available now listed as Marlboro Ace 55. GET SOME!At Frontier Farms, I specialize in many varieties of Heirloom tomatoes, peppers, plus many other vegetable varieties. WHAT IS AN HEIRLOOM? Heirloom plants are grown from seeds that have been handed down thru generations, saved from year to year, some varieties dating back hundreds of years. Many made the migration from Europe and the East with the immigrants coming to the USA. The seeds are never cross pollinated and so they remain true to their particular characteristics. Heirloom tomatoes come in all colors, shapes, and sizes ? Reds, Pinks, Yellows, Orange, White, Green, Striped, and Black. Ranging in sizes of cherry and grape to large grapefruit size, meaty, or juicy. WHY HEIRLOOM? These tomatoes are more natural, they are non GMO (genetically modified). They do not have as long of a shelf life as store bought tomatoes, but that is what makes them special. They have a real fantastic tomato flavor not found in grocery store offerings. These tomatoes are indeterminate (they grow all season, they flower all season and they produce tomatoes all season. They don?t stop until frost. Once heirloom tomatoes are picked, they do not have a long shelf life as hybrids but they more than make up for any shortcomings in flavor. Please see my other listings and my store for more great varieties and thank you!

COYOTE WILD YELLOW CHERRY TOMATO—–20 seeds per packet—–VERY PRODUCTIVE, this is a great variety. 65 days, INDETERMINATEA cluster of ripe “Coyote” tomatoes, still on the vine, was given to Craig LeHoullier by Maye Clement from Vera Cruz, Mexico, in 1990 during her visit to his display at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Harvest Festival. She related that it was a tomato that grew wild in Mexico (Craig’s note: there is more to add, but I need to find the letter she sent to me). Due to the pale color, Craig mistakenly originally listed it in the SSE yearbook as Ivory Currant – but the true name, according to Maye, is indeed “Coyote”.Wild white/yellow cherry from Mexico, large plant gets loaded with them, voted the “Tastiest” tomato at the CHOPTAG 09 tomato tasting, sweet like eating bits of fruit.Delightful little cherry tomatoes are creamy ivory with hints of yellow and an absolutely unforgettable taste. The flavor is not only sweet but is also marked by a fruity complexity. They are so irresistible that you won’t want to stop eating them at harvest time. Plants are large and quite prolific, bearing long clusters of these 1/2-inch delicious little treats. Heirloom variety originally from Mexico. This is close in shape and flavor ot another cherry tomato I currently have available, THE CHAMPAGNE CHERRY TOMATO. Champagne Cherry won “CHOPTAG” IN ’07, so you know they are both delicious. Champagne is just slightly larger than the fruit of Coyote, but both grow to be huge spawling plants with HUNDREDS of tomatoes on each plant. I canned these one year and was able to enjoy them through the winter months.Great choice for an “HEIRLOOM TASTING PLATTER” with different colors. Lots of ways to get creative here.Did You Know? PURPLE DOG CREEK TOMATO—–20 seeds per packetVERY PRODUCTIVE, this is a great variety. 85 days, INDETERMINATEI’ve had a lot of requests for this variety and I am so happy that I am able to offer it to you!If they gave out blue ribbons for taste alone, this tomato would be sure to win. It won in our own taste contest – sweet, yes, but a complex blend of sweet tastes all mixed up. Hard to describe! We might call it pink, but in times past this tomato color was called purple. They weigh in the one pound range, and produced right up until frost.Purple Dog Creek tomatoes are deep pink fruits with exceptional flavor; sweet, but very nice with a real tomato taste! Yields are very high and fruits vary a bit in size, but many will be over a pound. Plants here offered yummy fruits into the Fall and showed good disease resistance.West Virginia Heirloom from the Dogcreek area of Munfordville, Kentucky. It really doesn’t mater that the tomato is not purple because it’s excellent! Purple Dog Creek is a 1 pound slicer that works well for many applications. This well balanced fruit has flavor that will quickly get you hooked! It’s not too sweet, acidic, juicy of mild. It’s just perfect! Flesh has a really nice, smooth texture. Vines are hardy and seem to love hotter weather! Go for it!Seeds for this variety were originally collected by Randy Sine of West Virginia. This is a story that Randy shared:”Members of the Winchester Avenue Church in Martinsburg, WV did charity work in depressed rural Appalachian communities. They did renovations of churches and barns and basically helped out in whatever way they could. At one of the communities in the Purple Dog Creek region of Kentucky near Munfordville, a picnic dinner was given as a “thank you”. Mr. Bill Hoffman asked if he could take a couple of the tomatoes with him for his friend. Bill brought the tomatoes back to Martinsburg and gave them to my friend Spud Raney. Spud ate one to taste it and saved seeds from the other. Spud then called me and said I’ve got a good one, you might want to come get seeds. I traded with people and listed it in the SSE and Spud sells through the WV Market Bulletin. Between us we got the tomato into circulation.”A good sized, round red/dark pink tomato. Very juicy and TASTY! This was great again in salsa, salads, and on sandwiches.Great choice for an “HEIRLOOM TASTING PLATTER” with different colors. Lots of ways to get creative here.Did You Know? These tomatoes are indeterminate (they grow all season, they flower all season, and they produce tomatoes all season. They don’t stop until frost. Once heirloom tomatoes are picked, they do not have a long shelf life as hybrids but they more than make up for any shortcomings in flavor. Please see my other listings and my store for more great varieties and thank you!
Franks Large Red heirloom tomato seeds non-gmo open pollinated ONE OF MY BEST!
One of those tomatoes that i continue to grow out every year is FRANK’S LARGE RED. This tomato performs great! This tomato, FRANKS LARGE RED, performed amazingly well for me in the high desert frontier at 4100 feet. My growing season is sometimes very long (May-November) and other years it can end in early September. No matter, this variety puts on a ton of fruit and does very well regardless of length of season. Great flavor and appearance. Other pictures of this tomato online, shows it to be a rather nonuniform type beefsteak, irregular in shape somewhat. Instead, I found my tomatoes were all BIG and all shaped the same. Very uniform shaped LARGE tomatoes with ribbed shoulders, slightly flattened, and yeah BIG!. This is an awesome tomato. VERY PRODUCTIVE, this is a great variety. If you are looking for the perfect tomato to complement your hamburger, you have found it. You will agree that this has a salty sweet flavor, a bit like tomato soup. Plenty of acid bite to it. Beautiful deep red color, usually around 1 lb each, but can get bigger, with good production. Beefsteak type, and it does not have a lot of seeds. Very healthy plants.75-80 days, indeterminate., regular leaf plant with a high yield of 12-18 oz, pink beefsteak fruit with very good flavor, eastern Kentucky heirloom.A good sized, round red tomato. Very juicy and TASTY! This was great again in salsa, salads, and on sandwiches.Large tomatoes with potential to grow to well over 2 lbs. Oblate, slightly ribbed, at times irregular shaped fruits with excellent flavor: delicious, compelling blend of tart and sweet. Excellent sandwich tomato. Indeterminate, regular leaf vines.Great choice for an “HEIRLOOM TASTING PLATTER” with different colors of FRANKS LARGE RED tomato seeds, heirloom, open-pollinated, non-gmo. 25 seeds per packet. FRANKS LARGE RED has a fantastic flavor(did I say DELICIOUS?!?!), is red, large, and productive. Did You Know? I have been saving seed for 7 years and this is the step by step process I use every year and I’ll tell you, my germination rates are amazing! a quick note on seed storage… I feel through my experience the best way to store your seed is in the refrigerator. Some vegetable varieties produce seed that remains viable for many years (tomatoes) and others produce seed that does not store well under any conditions (onions). I believe seed stored under refrigerated conditions could last 10 years or more. I have just planted some ACE 55 seeds from 2000 this last summer 2017. They did great! Germination rates were in the 90% range and these seeds had been sitting in a box in my garage for the past 17 years! I have some of that seed available now listed as Marlboro Ace 55. GET SOME! Anyway, I bought 100 or so varieties and have been growing them out ever since. One of these tomato varieties I have grown several times and is a favorite is MARLOWE CHARLESTON. This is a big pink tomato with big tomato flavor. This was one of the first heirloom tomatoes I grew from seed, obtained from Blue Ribbon Tomatoes back in 2010. I think I have grown this one every year, it’s very productive, and has a great flavor. This tomato, MARLOWE CHARLESTON, performed amazingly well for me in the high desert frontier at 4100 feet. My growing season is sometimes very long (May-November) and other years it can end in early September. MARLOWE CHARLESTON tomato seeds, heirloom, open-pollinated, non-gmo. 25 seeds per packet. MARLOWE CHARLESTON has a fantastic flavor (did I say DELICIOUS?!?!), is a deep dark pink, large, and productive. First introduced in 1995 by Barbara Fath of Pleasant Plain, Ohio..Barbara Fath received seeds from her late mother-in-law Phyllis Marlowe in the late 1980s. Phyllis obtained them from her mother-in-law, Madeline Marlowe.Madeline Marlowe grew this tomato in Charleston, West Virginia for over 50 years, and then brought them with her to Ohio. This is where she and then her daughter-in-law Phyllis continued to grow it for another 30 years.Barbara Fath named this tomato after Madeline Marlowe and the place where she grew it originally, and she continued to grow it, up until 2002. When she found her saved seeds and grew it again in 2008, Barbara observed both regular and potato leaf types. Barbara said that the original is large potato leaf pink and meaty. Indeterminate plants (originally potato leaf and regular leaf) producemoderate amounts of pink, 3″, 12 oz., beefsteak tomatoes with awonderful, unique, sweet , yet mild, well-balanced flavors. Gooddisease resistance. Bears until frost. Honestly I cannot remember if this one was the regular or potatoleaf variety, so, you get to be surprised! Sorry, I will take better notes nextyear.A good sized, fairly uniformed shaped round tomato. Very juicy and TASTY! This was great again in salsa, salads, and on sandwiches. GREAT SLICER!Great choice for an “HEIRLOOM TASTING PLATTER” with different colors of sliced tomatoes. Lot’s of good ways to get creative here.Did You Know?
