I use organic fertilizer, compost, and red worm castings, that’s it! I do not buy foreign seeds or seeds that are out of date. I have been growing these varieties for years and they are proven winners. You will not be dissapointed! SATISFACTION GUARANTEED!NON-GMO MADE IN THE USABack in 2010 I bought my first assortment of heirloom seeds, off ebay actually, from Blue Ribbon Tomatoes. Unfortunately, they are no longer selling heirloom tomato seed, boo! Anyway, I bought 100 or so varieties and have been growing them out ever since. One of those tomatoes that I enjoyed growing and still grow every year is the BARLOW JAP tomato. Something different happened this year though…One of my BARLOW JAP plants apparently was some kind of mutant and produced round tomatoes rather than the usual beefsteak shape typical of BARLOW JAP. Plus they were smaller but grew like crazy! Also, this plant was regular leaf, whereas BARLOW JAP is a potato leaf variety. See my photos, off this one plant I harvested almost 9 lbs of small round delectable tomatoes that I turned into a super delicious salsa! BARLOW JAP ROUND tomato seeds, heirloom, open-pollinated, non-gmo. 25 seeds per packet. BARLOW JAP ROUND has a fantastic flavor(did I say DELICIOUS?!?!), is red, small, and VERY productive. This tomato, BARLOW JAP ROUND, performed amazingly well for me in the high desert frontier at 4100 feet. My growing season is sometimes very long (May-November) and other years it can end in early September. No matter, this variety puts on a ton of fruit and does very well regardless of length of season. Great flavor and appearance.HISTORY of the original BARLOW JAP tomato… family heirloom of Brita Barlow (a.k.a. TooManyTomatoes) who received them from her Grandfather, Roy Barlow of Shelbyville, Kentucky. Roy received the original seed from a friend who had supposedly smuggled them home from Japan at the end of WWII. The original plants were weak in growth habit, but after successive generations of saving seeds only from the healthiest and strongest plants with the best tomatoes, they now appear to be strong growers from germination. These tomatoes became the main crop for Mr. Barlow’s produce business, and he called them his ‘Jap’ tomatoes. In 2008, Brita realized the improved variety, passed down through her family, could be lost due to the limited number of seeds retained in her family. She began sharing the seed with other tomato growers to insure it’s survival. I was lucky enough to receive some of this seed in 2010.Did You Know? I believe seed stored under refrigerated conditions could last 10 years or more. I have just planted some ACE 55 seeds from 2000 this last summer, 2017. They did great! Many old timers in my town say this is the only tomato they grow, great canner, and great fresh eating especially for those who have trouble with high acid tomatoes. Fantastic on sandwiches and burgers! This variety is also one of the few low acid red varieties that matures in only 75-85 days. The Ace 55 tomato is a hearty tomato with thick walled fruits and low acid content. The bright red fruits grow to about 7oz.
