Mondo Grass (Ophiopogon japonicus) Mondo grass is an evergreen, sod-forming perennial. Plants are tufted, grasslike and 8 to 16 inches high. The ½-inch leaves are dark green and fine to medium in texture. They are erect to arching, smooth and grasslike. The flowering-plants are usually white or white tinged with lilac. Flowering and fruiting occurs from July through September. Mondo grass is quite often confused with liriope ( Liriope muscari ). However, the leaves of mondo grass are more narrow than those of liriope, the smaller flowering-plants are hidden by the leaves, the fruit-plants are blue compared to the black fruit-plants of liriope and mondo grass is less cold hardy. Most of this moss is Thuidium delicatulum, often called Fern or Log Moss, is a fast grower. Each moss order order is approximately 3-5 lb in size and five sheets of 9×12 inch moss providing almost 4 sq. ft. of product. We ship in an 13″x10″x4″ box secured with card board. Make sure to check moisture levels when your moss tray arrives. Fluff mosses with your hands. Rehydrate as needed and keep moist, but not soggy, a moist piece of cardboard will help as base, until planted. If possible, stage your mosses outdoors until planting, rather than inside locations. Liriope Grass, one gallon, Green/Purple

The Variegated Liriope has long and narrow green dense foliage with contrasting yellow stripes. In late summer this Liriope will develop spikes with purple/lavender spikes that will be followed by dark blue berry like fruits. This ornamental grass has a clumping growth habit, and once mature can reach 12-15in. tall. Liriope is very adaptable and can thrive in poor soils and dry conditions. Once established it is recommended to mow/trim back your liriope in fall so new fresh foliage can emerge in spring. This dwarf variety, only half the size of others, creates a lush ground cover of dense, dark green grass-like clumps. Excellent as an edging plant or tucked into rocks for a pleasing contrast. Its slow and clumping growth habit reaches only 4-6 inches tall(4-6 inches wide). This ornamental grass is widely used in rock gardens, seashore plantings, borders and ground covers. This low-maintenance evergreen needs a regular water schedule to ensure the growth of a mature root system. After the mature root system is established, watering is needed occasionally, except during a drought, watering is needed regularly. Pruning old foliage is recommended to maintain a well-groomed appearance. Dwarf mondo grass is similar in appearance to a ground cover commonly called Lilyturf (Liriope muscari), but has thinner leaves and a finer texture.
