Astrophytum myriostigma becomes a spineless columnar cactus with age rarely attaining a diameter of more than 6 inches wide. This spineless cactus species has ornamental interesting patterns of white spots on green to grey skin. Each body is unique. The white spots are highly variable, some specimens having dense white specks, to others having virtually no spots at all. Flower colors range from light yellow to yellow with red edges.
