It can easily grow in water to 5 inches above the roots in an 8 inch or wider container with heavy loam soil. This iris will grow to 18” to 24″ tall and has plenty of velvety, black-violet flowers with gold in the crest. Blooms from late May to June . A good grower that will spread quickly, hardy zones 3 – 12.
