Cardinal flower is a gorgeous native wetland perennial that produces small rosettes of foliage in the 1st year from seed, and then sends up stunning spires of cardinal red flowers from the 2nd year on. It grows in sun to mostly shade, and thrives in a moist location in the garden. Cardinal flower is a first rate Hummingbird plant, they simply cannot resist it and will visit frequently to drink the nectar.
