This listing is for a package of 50+ Salpiglossis Mix seeds. AKA Painted Tongue. AKA Salpiglossis sinuata. Full sun preferred. Annual. *may reseed if allowed to do so for subsequent years blooms (zone dependent) The exquisite colors and markings on these unique blooms are unmatched by any other flowers in our gardens. You must see them in person to believe it! The blooms almost shimmer with a metallic look in addition to their veining intricacies. Definitely show stoppers!! Blooms in many color variations beckon the butterflies for a visit. Can be used as a cut flower if harvested early. Stems do tend to be sticky. To grow, seed can be sown outside 1-2 weeks prior to your regions last frost date. Or for a jump start seed can be sown indoors up to 8 weeks before your regions last frost date. Transplanting not recommended. Seed requires complete darkness to germinate. Cover planting area with cardboard or similar. 2-3 weeks for germination. Plants prefer the cool weather months. We usually plant twice a year, once for a spring flush and then again for a fall flush of blooms.
