It is cultivated elsewhere for its prolific, showy and very brightly colored, uniquely formed flowers. It is easy to grow, quick to establish, and requires minimal care. Bright neon orange, five-petaled flowers appear as the days get longer and the nights warm up against a backdrop of sharply pointed, elongated, serrated deep green leaves about 3 inches long. It blooms repeatedly until mid to late fall. Mexican Flame is true vine, with tendrils on long, flexible, twining stems that will grab on and climb most any support that is nearby. This tropical vine grows very fast and vigorously through the warm season and then rests thru the winter.
