Bunker Triticale / WheatStarter PackHybrid A multi-purpose grain, used as a food grain as well as forage crops or green manure – high yield cover crop as well as a hay. Triticale is a cross between wheat and cereal rye. Bunker is winter active, reduced awnletted variety ( does not have a full beard) making it more palatable hay. As a cover crop Bunker provides benefits similar to winter active varieties of cereal rye with good weed suppression and better water penetration. Also used in dreid flower arrangements and craft projects. It can be planted in Fall and Winter in warm climates and should be planted in the Spring in colder areas. It will have the same growing season as Spring Wheat. Seed can be stored for many years in a cool dry place. Makes excellent cover for quail and other wildlife.
