10 Bridal Wreath Spirea Bush/Shrub Cuttings- No Roots (Read Description)

These are cuttings, not yet rooted plants. You will receive 10 cuttings. These cuttings will be cut the same day that they are shipped, and they will be around 5-6 inches in length. The cuttings will be softwood cuttings taken from new growth. To maintain moisture while shipping, the cuttings will be wrapped in a moist paper towel and put into a plastic bag. Please note that the bag is not temperature regulated, so understand that extreme hot or cold temperatures during shipping could potentially hurt the plants. In this case, a full refund will be given. To grow your cuttings: Remove 1/2 to 2/3 of the leaves from the bottom part of the cutting.Slightly moisten the cut end and dip it into rooting hormoneFill a pot that is at least 6 inches tall with moist potting mix, and plant 4-5 stems around the inner edge of the pot; the more, the better, to increase success chances. Cover the pot with a large plastic bag and seal the edges to create a humid environment. Place the pot in partial shade and allow the cuttings to root over the next few weeks. Make sure the potting mix remains moist at all times. After about four weeks, there should be new, green growth on the stems, which indicates that roots are forming. At this point, replant the cuttings into individual containers and allow them to continue to grow until they go dormant in the winter (they will lose their leaves). The following spring, transplant the cuttings into the ground. Facts about Bridal Wreath Spirea: Bridal Wreath Spirea is extremely fast growing and hardy, it requires no winter protection against the cold. These plants must be pruned to maintain their shape, and they will grow 4-8 feet tall once fully mature. Make sure to only prune them immediately after they flower, since pruning too late in the fall or early spring can remove the stems containing the buds for next year’s flowers. Bridal wreath spirea blooms with beautiful white flowers in the spring, generally starting in April, and the flowers last for 1.5-2 weeks before they leaf out. New shrubs may not have as many flowers as mature ones for the first few years. Bridal Wreath Spirea is generally deer and rabbit resistant, but new or baby plants may be nibbled on. The plant in the listing photos is the mature parent plant from which the cuttings will be taken from. Shipping Info: After cuttings are cut, they will immediately be packaged and brought to the post office. 1/2 to 2/3 of the leaves will be removed from the bottom of the cuttings so they expend less energy during shipping. This will ultimately help the cuttings take root once planted as well, since rooting cuttings need as little leaves as possible while still having some to perform photosynthesis. The cut ends of the cuttings will be wrapped in wet paper towels and will be packaged securely in a cardboard box.
