Pilea Dark Mystery Involucrata Purple Terrarium Plant Cutting Vivarium Dart Frog
You will receive about a 3” cutting usually with roots. It does root easily on its own. One of the more unique species rarely found. The pictures are a representation of the cutting you will receive. This plant has it all – color, pattern and texture and as a bonus the leaves have a shimmer effect to the silver markings. It’s a deep chocolate color with hints of the darkest purple, the backs are a stunning fushia. It is a nice contrast to all of the green plants. My favorite feature of this plant is the pattern, it is similar to a crocodiles skin. The pointed leaves are ruffled at the edges, and although it looks delicate, it’s actually a very sturdy plant. The leaves are stiff and stand up well, especially to moisture. It will stay small and has a mounding growth type, making it into a tiny bush for your terrarium. This plant has been grown in a vivarium / terrarium setting and is already adapted to those conditions. It grows very quickly for me under moderate lighting. Terrariums can end up looking flat if you have only green plants. Adding some dark colors like purple, copper or brown can make some plants really pop. It’s nice to add different textures, patterns and shapes as well. Take a look at my other plant listings to find some new additions!
