It takes my wife and I, 2-3 days to pack items and get ready to ship. The whole next day we drive around the island and get inspected (2-3 hours), then drive to the Airport Post Office to drop off. This auction is for 15 Christmas palm (Adonidia merrillii) seeds from well-established trees of >15 feet tall. These seeds will be shipped without soil to save on shipping costs. I sometimes send out cleaned seeds, so they might not be the bright red color in the pictures. We have been growing these for 10 years now in the Tampa Bay area (zone 10) of Florida. They grow easily and the larger trees bloom consistently without any fertilizer or extra watering. These are super easy to germinate and grow! See our last picture of some seeds we put into pots. They germinated very easily and are about 1 year old when I took the photograph. We combine shipping to same address as long as you checkout and pay for all auctions at the same time. Growing Instructions 1. Soak the seeds in water for approximately 24 hours. 2. Prepare a mixture of half potting soil and half sand, perlite or vermiculite and place inside pots. 3. Set a seed horizontally on the surface of the soil inside each pot and cover the seed with about ¼” of soil. 4. Put the pots in a warm area. The seeds need moist soil and heat to germinate, which takes about 1-3 months. 5. Transplant into a larger pot or directly into the ground after the plant has a few leaves. Simple!

The plants are anywhere from between 4″-8″+ tall and are planted in 4″ pots.It has a high wind resistance, some cold tolerance and and excellent disease resistance with s strong pseudo-stem and base. It is considered a dwarf, reaching a height of 7′-11’ft tall The “Sweetheart” hybrid AKA FHIA-03, which was developed in 1987 and is an outstanding producer of delicious tasting bananas that are reminiscent of one of its parents, Musa ‘Dwarf Prata’. It may be eaten as a fresh fruit when ripe and an excellent taste when cooked green. It has great potential for areas with marginal soils that do not allow the Cavendish banana to grow well.The ripe fruits have an “apple” flavor. It should be taken into account that, once the bunch is harvested, its green life is short and the hands should be harvested one at a time from the plants as needed.Zones 9-11 or down to 20°.
