Adult Size Venus Flytrap (Fly Trap Carnivorous Plant) Dionaea Muscipula 3in. pot
For beginners please see below in blue. The Venus Flytrap up for sale is not necessarily the one in the picture. The Venus Flytrap you will receive is about the size and condition of the one in the picture. Sometimes the Venus Flytrap will be slightly smaller than the one in the stock photo but when I pick one out that is slightly smaller I add in one or two extra smaller Venus Flytraps and you wind up with a little more plant overall. The plant in the picture is in a 3 inch pot. These Venus Flytraps for sale are hardened off and can be grown indoors next to a sunny window. Humidity domes and year round warm weather are not necessary. You can see all of my Carnivorous Plants for sale by checking here–>http://shop.ebay.com/joelscarnivorousplants/m.html?_trksid=p4340.l2562 Venus Flytraps are not difficult to take care of but they do have some very specific growing requirements. Each order for one or more of my Venus Flytraps includes a detailed caresheet that is a full page long and includes a potting diagram on the back of it explaining how to take care of a Venus Flytrap. It is specifically designed for a beginner by an experienced grower who knows how to take care of Venus Flytraps. The caresheet is not a few short sentences that leaves someone new to growing Venus Flytraps with many unanswered questions about how to take care of these kinds of plants. The caresheet is detailed enough that if followed correctly you should not have any difficulty successfully growing a Venus Flytrap. Over the years I have seen some very disturbing gimmicks for online sales of Venus Flytraps by vendors who do not specialize in carnivorous plants. Don’t be fooled by other offers for Venus Flytraps that have them arrive in or with terrariums or humidity domes. These types of plants have strong light requirements and it is a myth that Venus Flytraps need high humidity. The truth is that Venus Flytrap setups with terrariums or humidity domes almost always cause these types of plants to eventually die. They need to be grown in open air with containers that allow air to get into their soil and there should be little to block or diffuse their lighting. The best and by far the safest setup for these kinds of plants is to place them in a pot in open air next to a sunny window or if your weather is warm enough outside. Terrariums and humidity domes are simply not safe! Watch out for offers of Venus Flytrap kits that really just come with seeds. Often the seeds don’t germinate and even if they do Venus Flytraps take at least 2 to 3 years from seed to reach a decent size. Unfortunately, there are many vendors online selling Venus Flytrap kits with seeds or little Venus Flytraps with humidity domes that often arrive dormant during Wintertime. These types of setups very rarely ever result in a live plant of decent size even several months after they were purchased. It is much better for beginners to buy a larger healthy Venus Flytrap from a reputable vendor who specializes in Carnivorous Plants, provides extensive care information for beginners to be able to take care of these kind of plants correctly, and is not simply pushing a gimmick that will leave a beginner with a big disappointment from their first attempt to buy and grow these kind of plants. Feel free to check my feedback from other past customers. Each Venus Flytrap you purchase from me will receive a free 3 inch net pot, like the one pictured with the Flytrap. Net pots are the best kind of pots for Carnivorous Plants. This is because they have superb aeration for the roots. Each Flytrap will also come with a portion of Long Fibered Sphagnum Moss loosely packed, enough to fill your pot. I will also send a Caresheet with your order explaining how to take care of Flytraps. Shipping Terms: Each Flytrap will be shipped bareroot with some moistened Long Fibered Sphagnum Moss wrapped around their roots. I will disturb their roots as little as possible. If you live in North Carolina I will need to charge you 7% sales tax.

If you want great diversity in traps’ shape and color, this is best option.)G16 x G16/G17/DCXLG17 x G16/G17/DCXL Mother plants are typicals, fathers are named cultivars. I hand-pollinated most of them(Bees helped a bit too, I grow out door). Growing VFTs from seeds is a very challenging task, it is not easy but full of surprise and fun. Here are some key points to help you get started. 1) Freshness is the key, aged seeds’ germination rate drops rapidly 2) Pure water only, distilled water, RO filtered water or rain water. (PPM needs to be below 50, if you have a PPM meter) 3) Nutrition free medium only. Prefer to use New Zealand Sphagnum Moss or Peat moss based mix for other carnivorous plants 4) High humidity and some air flow. (For example covering the pots with clear plastic food wraps and punch a bunch of holes on them) 5) A lot of light. For seedlings, it is better to use grow light rather than sunlight in order to reduce the heat. With the food wraps under sun, they can be cooked quickly, do the best to avoid the high heat 6) Warm, but not too hot. 80~100F is a good range. Going over 100F is dangerous, blow 80F won’t kill them, but will slow down the germination. 7) Germination takes 2~8 weeks in average, depends on your growing conditions. 8) Slowly take off the wraps after 3~4 traps open up. 9) Slowly introduce to full sun after taking off the wraps 10) A lot of patience, they grow slow 11) VFTs from seeds are typicals, no matter they look stunning or boring. The fun of growing from seeds is, you don’t know how exactly they will look like. And you might get some special ones that you want to name them to become new cultivars. 40 seeds in the package and free shipping by USPS First-Class Mail letter (with no tracking). Happy Growing!

The Venus flytrap, the most famous carnivorous plant of all, and the Chinese dumpling adds to that with its serrated, oddly shaped teeth! And in my experience, the slowest growing and most fragile carnivorous plant, not to say that it’s bad, or very fragile, just pickier than the others.
