It spreads rapidly by underground stems called rhizomes. Upright shoots are formed at the ends of stolons in summer. These upright dormant stems are often called pips. The stems grow 6-12 inches tall, with 1 or 2 leaves. The flowers have 6 white tepals, and form a bell shape. They are sweetly scented, and flower in the late spring. If the winter has been mild, it can be as early as the beginning of March. The fruit is a small orange-red berry, containing a few seeds. You will receive 5 plants roots, freshly dug from our garden.
