ACE 55 tomato heirloom non-gmo LOW ACID GREAT CANNER! DISEASE RESISTANT! O.P.
Quick note: My seeds are grown, harvested and selected by me. I start ALL of my seedlings/transplants, so you know there are no chemicals, pesticides, insecticides, or harsh commercial fertilizers used in the products I produce. I use organic fertilizer, compost, and red worm castings, that’s it! I do not buy foreign seeds or seeds that are out of date. I have been growing these varieties for years and they are proven winners. You will not be dissapointed! SATISFACTION GUARANTEED! MADE IN THE USABack in 2010 I bought my first assortment of heirloom seeds, off ebay actually, from Blue Ribbon Tomatoes. Unfortunately, they are no longer selling heirloom tomato seed, boo! Anyway, I bought 100 or so varieties and have been growing them out ever since. One of the tomatoes I’ve grown, that has been a favorite, and one I have grown several times is ACE 55. ACE 55 tomato seeds, heirloom, open-pollinated, non-gmo. 25 seeds per packet. ACE 55 has a fantastic flavor(did I say DELICIOUS?!?!), is red, large, and VERY productive. This tomato, ACE 55, has performed amazingly well for me in the high desert frontier at 4100 feet. My growing season is sometimes very long (May-November) and other years it can end in early September. No matter, this variety puts on a ton of fruit and does very well regardless of length of season. Great flavor and appearance. With ACE 55, you will get a lot of nice red tomatoes all at once as this is a determinate variety, which makes it great for canning/processing. Due to its low acid content however, canning should take place in a pressure cooker or lemon juice must be added to jars if water bath canning. Many old timers in my town say this is the only tomato they grow, great canner, and great fresh eating especially for those who have trouble with high acid tomatoes. Fantastic on sandwiches and burgers! This variety is also one of the few low acid red varieties that matures in only 75-85 days. The Ace 55 tomato is a hearty tomato with thick walled fruits and low acid content. The bright red fruits grow to about 7oz. The Ace 55 grows somewhat large, indeterminate vines, 4-5 feet, that are resistant to Fusarium Wilt, Verticillium Wilt, and Alternaria Stem CankerLarge red fruit, semi-globe medium firm with thick walls and very good interior color; uniform ripening. Vine medium to large and very productive. Low in acid and can be eaten by those who cannot use ordinary acidic sorts of tomatoes. Adapted for Western areas, but does well in all zones..This is an open-pollinated variety. A standard in the garden for those wanting a dependable producer of abundant crops of 10-12 oz. red tomatoes with good flavor. This variety is preferred by those folks who have difficulty with higher acid tomatoes. Ace is a vigorous med-large determinate tomato plant that was bred for the marketplace so it resists cracking. A good choice for a farmer’s market tomato. ACE 55 tomato, from hat I can tell, was developed by Campbell’s Soups and growing/performance trials took place at the UNIVERSITY OF LOS ANGELES and is one of the few red low-acid tomatoes. It also has excellent resistance to disease and cracking.First offered for sale in 1950, Americans valued it for being among the first low-acid, open-pollinated, multiple disease resistant tomatoes. Nutritional Value:The red tomato is listed on most nutritional lists as a super-food. It is packed with the antioxidant vitamins A and C, potassium and the B vitamins for heart health, and above all a powerful carotenoid called lycopene. This phytonutrient, which is responsible for the bright red color of tomatoes, has been studied for its role in fighting various cancers, and its ability to lower cholesterol. When tomatoes are cooked, even more lycopene is made available. Lycopene has been shown to be especially effective when eaten with fat-rich foods such as avocado, olive oil, or nuts. There are the ingredients for a powerhouse salad! HEIRLOOM VEGETABLES JUST TASTE BETTER! INCLUDES BASIC GROWING INSTRUCTIONSI grow all my own varieties and harvest all of my own seeds. All of my seeds are fermented, strained, washed, dried, and stored at 34 degrees f until you purchase them. I have been saving seed for 7 years and this is the step by step process I use every year and I’ll tell you, my germination rates are amazing! a quick note on seed storage… I feel through my experience the best way to store your seed is in the refrigerator. Some vegetable varieties produce seed that remains viable for many years (tomatoes) and others produce seed that does not store well under any conditions (onions). I believe seed stored under refrigerated conditions could last 10 years or more. I have just planted some ACE 55 seeds from 2000 this last summer, 2017. They did great! Germination rates were in the 90% range and these seeds had been sitting in a box in my garage for the past 17 years! I have some of that seed available now listed as Marlboro Ace 55. GET SOME! At Frontier Farms, we specialize in many varieties of Heirloom tomatoes, peppers, plus many other vegetable varieties. WHAT IS AN HEIRLOOM? Heirloom plants are grown from seeds that have been handed down thru generations, saved from year to year, some varieties dating back hundreds of years. Many made the migration from Europe and the East with the immigrants coming to the USA. The seeds are never cross pollinated and so they remain true to their particular characteristics. Heirloom tomatoes come in all colors, shapes, and sizes. Reds, Pinks, Yellows, Orange, White, Green, Striped, and Black. Ranging in sizes of cherry and grape to large grapefruit size, meaty, or juicy. WHY HEIRLOOM? These tomatoes and other vegetable varieties are more natural, they are non GMO (genetically modified). They do not have as long of a shelf life as store bought tomatoes/vegetables, but that is what makes them special. They have a real fantastic tomato flavor not found in grocery store offerings. These tomatoes/vegetables are indeterminate (they grow all season, they flower all season and they produce tomatoes all season. They don?t stop until frost. Once heirloom tomatoes and vegetables are picked, they do not have a long shelf life as hybrids, but they more than make up for any shortcomings in flavor. This is true for all heirloom vegetables. Please see my other listings and my store for more great varieties and thank you!

50 YELLOW BRANDYWINE TOMATO SEEDS Yellow Brandywine tomatoes are a unique and delicious variety of tomato that are prized for their sweet, tangy flavor and beautiful golden-yellow color. Here is a detailed planting and cultivation guide to help you grow your own Yellow Brandywine tomatoes successfully. 1. Choose a sunny spot: Yellow Brandywine tomatoes thrive in full sunlight, so choose a spot in your garden that receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight each day. 2. Prepare the soil: Yellow Brandywine tomatoes prefer well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter. Before planting, amend your soil with compost or well-rotted manure to improve its fertility and texture. 3. Planting: Plant your Yellow Brandywine tomatoes outdoors after all danger of frost has passed, typically in late spring or early summer. Dig a hole that is deep enough to accommodate the root ball of the plant and gently remove the plant from its container. Place the plant in the hole and backfill with soil, gently pressing down to secure the plant in place. Space your plants 18-24 inches apart to allow for ample air circulation. 4. Watering: Yellow Brandywine tomatoes require regular watering to thrive. Water deeply once or twice a week, depending on weather conditions, to ensure that the soil remains consistently moist but not waterlogged. Avoid overhead watering to prevent the development of fungal diseases. 5. Fertilizing: Fertilize your Yellow Brandywine tomatoes every 3-4 weeks with a balanced organic fertilizer to provide them with the nutrients they need to grow and produce healthy fruit. 6. Mulching: Mulch around your Yellow Brandywine tomato plants with organic mulch, such as straw or shredded leaves, to help retain soil moisture, suppress weeds, and regulate soil temperature. 7. Supporting: Yellow Brandywine tomatoes are indeterminate varieties that can grow quite tall and require support to prevent them from toppling over. Use stakes, cages, or trellises to support your plants as they grow. 8. Pruning: To promote air circulation and reduce the risk of disease, prune your Yellow Brandywine tomato plants by removing the lower leaves and suckers (small shoots that grow in the leaf axils). This will also redirect the plant’s energy towards fruit production. 9. Harvesting: Yellow Brandywine tomatoes are ready to harvest when they are fully ripe and have a vibrant golden-yellow color. Gently twist or cut the fruit from the vine, being careful not to damage the plant. By following these planting and cultivation guidelines, you can enjoy a bountiful harvest of delicious Yellow Brandywine tomatoes throughout the growing season. 100 Red Brandywine Tomato Seeds Organic Heirloom – Non-GMO – Always Fresh Seeds!
Red Brandywine Tomato Seeds Organic Heirloom – Non-GMO – Always Fresh Seeds! An heirloom Amish variety dating back to 1885. Deep red fruits are firm and clear-skinned. Large indeterminate plant type. Excellent flavor.Sowing: Start tomatoes indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost of spring, sowing the seeds in a flat 1/4″ deep and 1″ apart. Keep the temperature at 70-75 degrees F until germination, as well as providing adequate light in a sunny window or under a grow light; keep the soil moist, but make sure drainage is adequate. When the second set of leaves emerges, transplant the seedlings into individual pots; bury the stems up to the lowest set of leaves to grow strongly rooted plants. A week before planting the seedlings outside, begin exposing them to the weather during the day to harden them; tomatoes cannot endure cold weather, and should not be transplanted outside until all threat of frost has passed. When the soil temperature reaches at least 70 degrees F, plant the seedlings in full sun and very rich soil; once more, bury the entire stem up to the lowest set of leaves. If providing a trellis, space the plants 2′ apart, but if allowing the vines to spread, space the plants 3-4′ apart. For companion planting benefits, plant tomatoes with carrots or onions, but avoid planting them with cabbage or tomatoes.Growing: Indeterminate tomato varieties often perform best when provided with a trellis or support, since this protects them from various pests and diseases in connection with too much soil contact. Put the supports in place before the seedlings develop vines. As the vines begin to grow, tying them to the support helps their development. Since temperatures below 55 degrees F can damage production, protect the plants if temperatures drop. A thick layer of mulch helps conserve moisture and control weeds; water the plants once a week, but avoid getting the leaves wet. Pruning the “suckers,” or shoots that grow between the main stem and the branches, will greatly improve the production and strength of the plant. All multiple orders of the same seed are put in the same bag. For example if you order 500 beefsteak tomato seeds x 3 then 1500 seeds will be put in the same bag. We do not send out 3 individual bags with 500 in each. This goes for all seeds unless they are listings of different seeds.NOTE: ALL GROWING INFO AND INSTRUCTIONS ARE SENT WITH YOUR ORDER.
