You are buying 4 Chinkapin Oak trees 12-14" tall (Quercus Muehlenbergii). These Oaks are very rare and cousin to the Bur Oak. The trees are currently in the ground to duplicate natural growing conditions. They will be freshly dug when purchased and shipped bare root between October 15 and April 15. The Chinkapin Oak tree is one of the rarest trees in the oak family. They will grow to about ~60' tall and are one of the They good fall foliage. They do well in partial shade and full sun. They appear in a variety of geographies from hills to low lands and can tolerate a wide variety of soils. The Chinkapin oaks produce some of the sweetest acorns for wildlife. They produce acorns on an annual basis. They are also resistant to most any pest or disease. Deer and squirrels love the acorns and will pass by the Red Oak acorn in favor of the Chinkapin Oak acorns.
