Lobelia wollastonii is a perennial shrub in the Campanulaceae family. Its native range is from Uganda to Rwanda in the Mountains of the Moon. It is best suited for high Mountains or oceanic climates where it doesn't freeze or get too hot. It can grow to 15 feet tall, then an inflorescence added makes it over 20 feet tall. The inflorescence is covered in rosettes of bluish-green. Birds and insects pollinate it. It prefers to grow in the light shade when young, then in the full sun once established with high water needs. Zones 10-11 Germination Place your seeds and some soil in a ziplock bag. Moisten the mixture enough so it sticks together without water dripping out. Write the name of the seeds on the bag. Place the mixture in your refrigerator for 60 days. Seeds can then be sown into a well-drained, sandy compost and covered lightly with sand or grit. Place the seed tray in a shady corner and keep moist until germination.
