4 grams or about 1000 DAH YE Broad Leaf Garlic Chive seeds; Allium tuberosum Rottler; 大寬葉韭菜 Dah Ye: Winter-dormant type. The plant is up to 18" tall. Deep green leaves are average 0.4" wide. Excellent cold tolerance, fast growing, especially in early spring and high yielding. Excellent garlic flavor. Especially suitable for open field and greenhouse. Some growing tips: - do not harvest the chives during the first year, allow the seedlings to grow strong - organic matters would supplement the growth, compost would be even better - yellow chives can be had by cutting back the chives about 2" above ground, then cover it with a big carton (to shield from sunlight) for two weeks. - do not allow flowered seeds to drop to the ground, as you may have tons of seedlings by next spring - after couple years, subdivide the root sections when the clump is too crowded My favorite dish is chopped garlic chives with scrambled eggs; as well as stir fried with shredded pork and a touch of hot peppers.
