You are bidding on 15 FRUCTICO ALBA JAPANESE QUINCE SEEDS - Chaenomeles × superba 'Fructico Alba' It has lush, dark green leaves and in late winter or early spring, masses of lovely white flowers , followed by small greenish-yellow fruit 2" across. Hardiness Zone: 5-9 Height: 5 ft Spread: 2 ft Medicinal use of Japanese Quince: The fruit is analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, astringent and digestive. A decoction is used internally in the treatment of nausea, joint pains, cholera and associated cramps. Edible parts of Japanese Quince: Fruit - cooked. Very harsh and acid raw but fragrant when cooked. Used for jams, jellies etc and as a flavoring with cooked apples. The fruit can be apple or pear-shaped and up to 6.5 cm long x 6.5 cm wide.Other uses of the herb: Plants can be grown as a medium sized hedge.
