Ten cuttings Rosa 'Cécile Brünner', also known as 'Mlle CéRosa 'Cécile Brünner' - Wikipediacile Brünner', 'Sweetheart Rose', 'Malteser Rose', or 'Mignon', is a light pink polyantha rose bred in France by Marie Ducher and introduced by her son-in-law, Joseph Pernet-Ducher in 1881. Commonly called the sweetheart rose, the Cecile Brunner rose (Rosa x "Cecile Brunner") is a climbing rose cultivar favored for its tiny, pale pink flowers and cascading growth habit. It grows best within U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 4 to 11, where it will bloom prolifically during the spring and autumn months. Unlike many roses, Cecile Brunner roses do not require grafting and will propagate eagerly from stem cuttings. The cuttings require no special pretreatment and very little hands-on care; however, they must be potted in sterile medium and kept under light shade to ensure their survival. One of the best ways to propagate new roses is to take a cutting from an existing plant and grow it into a whole new rose bush. When you grow roses from a cutting, you cut a stem from a healthy plant and root it in a growing medium so it grows into an independent plant of its own.
