You are purchasing one 2-4'' tall (pot height is not included) Red Fruit Cherry of the Rio Grande (Eugenia Involucrata) Tree Starter Plant in 2.5'' square pot. Cherry of the Rio Grande, Eugenia Involucrata (formerly known as Eugenia aggregata) grows as a narrow evergreen shrub, 10-20 ft high.It flowers in the spring and summer. Flowers are followed in three weeks by 1″ oblong, dark- red/purple fruits that are sweet, have a thin skin and a single seed. It has a pleasant and tasty sweet cherry flavor. They are hardy plants, to 20F when mature, though younger plants should be protected from frosts.Grow in full sun or part shade, water when flowering and fruiting, but plants are fairly drought tolerant. Plants are tolerant of a variety of soils, but grow best in partly acidic soil. Excellent container specimen.Heavy watering one-two months before harvest is needed for abundant harvest (the same as with Grumichama). Trees grown from seeds are not identical to the parent tree. Grown organically in Florida. Pictures are from my garden of the actual plants and actual fruits that I grew.Shipped via USPS First Class or Priority mail.FREE Shipping!
