These are new sprouts with the nut still attached, and under 10 inches. *** It is usually recommended to transplant these trees in spring, or late fall, due to hardships of shipping and replanting in the summer heat, These trees will be mowed down by fall so I am offering them at a risk to their health at a lower rate to you. While I do not guarantee these trees, (shipping, heat, possible mismanagement of planting/watering) I do offer big discounts on replacement orders for those that don't make it. I do package them with their moist soil to try and help survival rate but there may be some loss. I usually include a couple extra for the orders to try and make up for it. They tend to lose their leaves from the shock of shipping, but plant them right away, water appropriately, and their leaves grow back.*** I am rehoming these from public roadways where they are to be mowed down. I offer lower prices because these are not nursery trees, but have grown and have been shaped by nature. Most of them are beautiful full shapes, like you would find in a nursery, just young and ready to form in their growth. Black walnut trees are hardy, and are ready to bear fruit, delicious flavorful walnuts, in 7 years. They can be harvested for their wood in as little as 25 years. They grow the best, fastest and healthiest, in deep, well-drained, nearly neutral soils that are generally moist and fertile, in full sun.
