Comments: 'Ingwersen' is very popular in Europe, but not well-known in the U.S. It produces evergreen, arching, deep green foliage 1/2 inch wide. Lilac flower spikes bloom profusely. Clump-forming, it spreads by short underground rhizomes. Mature height is 12 inches to 15 inches. 'Ingwersen' is wonderful for a lush ground cover. It will tolerate full sun, but blooms best in partial shade to full shade in USDA climate zones 6 to 10. Average well-drained garden soil is fine. It adapts to a wide variety of soil types with pH ranging from 4.5 to 6.4. 'Ingwersen' is drought tolerant.
